No one expects the wedgening Bantams

If any of our fleets can be classified as a meme fleet - it's the Friday Wedge. This time our FC decided to ditch the usual Thrasher composition in favour of combat Bantams! We never expected to kill much in logi frigates but once again the Loot Fairy had other plans.

The first on our kill-of-shame was this blingy Gila, followed by a Rapier, then this unnecessary blingy Occator, right next to a Procurer, one Ishtar for good measure, then one extremely salty Phantasm to sweeten up the flavouring, followed by an Orthrus (that was very confused I'm sure) just to finish it off with an Osprey Navy...

Monday funday with a twist

Mondays have been a regular day for a 'funday' fleet FCed by Chappers - loved by newbros and vets alike. Due to a new job position that will make his EVE time noticeably limited, he decided to yeet his Maelstrom into Tama with the biggest kitchen-sink in recent SiCo times. It didn't take long to escalate Tama shenanigans into a complete mess above the Nourvukaiken gate that we somehow managed to survive (mostly). The roam then continued into null where the fleet yoinked approximately 400mil in ESS bank loot after we finally escorted our FC back to safety of hisec.

From all of us in EX-SA, may your fresh start be bountiful and your seas calm. Until the next fleet o7

This is fine...

Ipheros joined us just recently as a pilot that hasn't done much PVP but that didn't stop him from joining pretty much all our fleets ever since becoming an EX-SA member. Not only that, but he prefers flying logi making himself the hero everyone wants and needs! Unfortunately our hero forgot to swap his pod that made his total losses quickly catch up with the rest of the regular PVPers...

It's over 9000!

A magnificent 24h timeframe highlighted by two corp milestones! After a fantastic late-night fleet roam we first hit 9000 kills, and the next morning, Jair made sure to tick another milestone by losing his MTU which was the 2000th loss for the corp.

We don't always change alliances, but when we do...

EX-SA has been joining FUN INC fleets for two years now on a weekly basis and many of you feisty PVPers are familiar with who they are and what they do, so at this point it felt right to make our corp a part of their alliance strictly based on friendships we made and mutual content we keep running every single week.

However... Literally just hours after joining, Aria ran his birthday fleet hosting a battle-royale style PVP fight among corp members painting the Alliance killboard red with awoxes. Once that was done, Meloira made shure to put a cherry ontop of our welcoming cake by losing 2bil ISK worth of Abyssal haul to a station suicide ganker. Thank you Ancients for having us!

EVE is dead...

As we usually do on saturday nights, we undocked once again with approximately 40 other NPSI enthusiasts in search for content. The night started promising with a blingy Ishtar kill - but little did we know this was only a start of a long kill-streak that would prolong the fleet up to 5 hours!

A few capsules, more Ishtars, Tengu, Rattlesnake, Orca, Nidhoggur, Thanatos and even a nice little fleet fight among other smaller kills brought the final tally up to 78 killed and 30b ISK destroyed! And people say EVE is dead... :)

Hauler Grand Prix

For our 6th surprise tournament we went for a non-violent competition and placed our feisty members against each other in a hauler race on a track around the home citadel! The leading position changed frequently during the 3-lap race only to hit a nail-biting finish in the last lap where Rynn Malukker won by passing Zharo Vereynor at the last checkpoint where he unfortunately burnt out his MWD losing the pole position. Aria Nakatsuri followed shortly taking the 3rd place in the race while the rest of the contestants were still stuck on the Astrahus spire elevator...

Day-long PVP marathon with a cherry on top

Hosted by our coalition friends from [N0M3D], we participated in multiple roaming fleets taking place throughout the day. The total tally ramped up close to 150 kills with a lot of small stuff and a few juicy targets... However, randomly stumbling across two CSM members definitely takes the cake as the fleet found Brisc Rubal (clip) and Merkelchen (clip) in Providence.

A month-long competition

During the month of March we had multiple competing categories corp members took part in worth close to a billion ISK! These covered PVP as well as PVE. Our top logibro of the month award went to Ase Drey with 12 fleets flown as logi. Jair Angst grabbed awards in the PVE category winning both the top contributor as well as the most active PVE player, but it was the PVP award that was ending in a photo-finish!

With 2 particular members fighting for the 1st place, Aria Nakatsuri came to a devious plan where he tried using profitable PVE fleets as a distraction almost making Eowyn Serenity drop her guard and lose her advantage - fortunately for her, Aria's trickery wasn't enough to overtake the top spot.

Didn't want that Thanatos anyway

Our usual Saturday Raptor roam took a detour through LS after we got reports of a big brawl in progress. As we reached the system, the fight was already over which was apparently good enough for a Thanatos pilot to undock and start a lv5 mission. A questionable decision followed by a very predictable outcome.

Not long after, back on our usual route, we stumbled upon yet another Thanny pilot ratting. This one was (un)fortunate to have 100 people in local who just chose to ignore his cries for help so he decided the best course of action would be to self-destruct. GF?

When the hunter becomes the prey

An "experiment", as Barrote put it - a blingy Nergal flying through hisec scanning MTUs in hope of the oldest bait pattern in EVE history: get someone to aggress you then blapp them back since mission & anomaly runners never fit for PVP. Only this time, our baiting hero stumbled upon a fully prepared neuting Gnosis against which a poor frigate didn't stand a chance. However, Barrote didn't wait for long to get ISK positive! He applied the same reverse-bait logic and got himself an Ikitursa. A worthy entry on the timeline of goofs!

Overkill much?

It's been almost 2 weeks into 2021 that we didn't do something stupid so DrBreak made sure this is rectified. After forming a fierce corvette fleet, we jumped into a nearby faction warfare zone with a single goal in mind - kill ONE ship! It didn't take long to find a Maller that suffered a shameful death and the word in local got out... Our fleet already declared victory striking fear all across the system.

This prompted a swift reaction with Xtra Squishy warping in a bait Armageddon which we instantly took expecting to die one by one... As we started tickling the Geddon's shields a Leviathan landed followed by a single smartbomb pulse that took out the entire fleet. Op success!

2020 stats - Explorers' Sanctum in numbers

While real-life is plagued by a world-wide pandemic, we somehow managed to not only hold on to our group, but even make it bigger and better than ever before! This year started as a brand-new chapter in EX-SA's history and to commemorate our PVP activities, we made a 2020 stats site with all the numbers...

Ending the year with a goof

As EX-SA members started gathering around corp HQ to celebrate New Year, a few of us were running holiday sites around Caldari space. As it usually happens, someone crashes the site baiting people into engagement. With two Drekavacs, a PVP blaster Brutix on grid and a Curse one jump out - taking the engagement against a single Praxis was an easy call to make.

After tackling the obvious bait and dropping him into low armor - everything seemed to be going as planned. But when the Praxis pilot started instarepping himself with 2 fully spooled Dreks and a Brutix bashing his ship (a rough estimate of over 3000 DPS) - we knew this wasn't your regular bait Praxis. As Rynn's Drekavac went down, we got a good demonstration at what a 100% abyssal fitted triple-rep ship can tank... GF good sir, you deserve every bit of that kill o7

Influencing the world in all the right places

Rynn has issues. I mean, everyone does but she's special. It's not that she spends all her ISK on SKINs, it's the fact she's been spreading the addiction to other people as well. With the winter event in full bloom, we decided to jump into trustful Ventures & Procurers and go mine ourselves some event sites! But, as confused as we usually are - we forgot to put mining modules on our ships and ended up with weapons instead! The belts were rich with content so we ended the night with our hauls full of salt gathered from sources like this Hecate, Scorpion Navy, Endurance, Procurer, Stratios, Phantasm, Stabber, Stabber Fleet Issue, Procurer and a Rattlesnake.

The little Raptor that could

EX-SA has been a part of FUN Inc Raptor roams for a very long time now. It's a fast and agile fleet that gets tons of kills due to large areas of space covered and the fact it gets underestimated very often. One specific Raptor stood out since it refused to die for over 6 months while joining almost every Shrinkwrapped fleet! And just when Skipp got attached to it, a big fight on an overbubbled Thera hole took place that finally brought down a Raptor with over 20 killmarks. GF little guy... you will be swiftly replaced...

Stranger things have happened...

...it's a saying you'll hear a lot of FCs quote when doing something that might seem completely stupid. Well, tonight was one of those nights. While we were randomly jumping around nullsec, scouts called out a Rorqual trying to take a gate out of the system. We tackled the miner just for shits'n'giggles while trying to get a hold of Bombers Bar since a 20-man frigate fleet can't even scratch the Rorq's shields. After a few minutes of defanging random drones and chit-chat in local, a bright flash lit up the gate as the pilot decided that the next logical thing to do is to self-destruct his 3bil ISK ship.

Tears in HVEN

It's been 7 months since we first met [HVEN] - our wormhole friends who, once again, found themselves in an eviction attempt. This one was a prime example of how the butterfly effect works in EVE... After they killed a lone Proteus, the enemy forces started invading [HVEN]'s home anchoring multiple structures in an attempt for revenge.

Over the course of multiple days and various time zone structure timers, the fight culminated in a massive brawl over the Fortizar with over 350 pilots participating in the fight that simply reminded people that EVE is all about friendship and good fights! Capsuleers from all corners of New Eden came to help defend but the superior ship setup and the massive C4 bonus to remote reps were in favour of the attacking force that managed to destroy the Fortizar. Check out the full battle report here.

Killing is just a means of communication

(Soundtrack) - EX-SA was anything but a PVP corp when we started out - but over the last year we managed to slowly introduce members into the beauties of ammo exchange turning some hi-sec carebears into fuzzy trigger-happy carebears! To make this milestone even greater, the final kill that pushed the corporation over the 1 trillion ISK destroyed mark was an extremely unlucky Moros pilot that jumped into a system where a NPSI fleet just randomly stumbled upon him during a roam.

A huge thanks to every EX-SA member for making this such an enjoyable journey! It's a pleasure flying with you all. o7

Another month another tournament!

After smartbombing her way through the last one, Rynn hosted her own version of the Surprise tournament with Probes limited to only 2 modules per slot and restrictions on any dual module of the same category. The tournament was named appropriately - The ZWEIKAMPF! This tournament saw a comeback of some familiar names as well as a rise in brand new contestants!

Even while flying the fastest ship in the tournament, Shiry lost the duel making DrBreak jump on the 3rd place podium while Skipp dodged first place losing to Barotte by judge rules after a stalemate of almost identical fits that couldn't break one another for a long time.

The Wedgening of Tama

Wedge fleets are a well-established doctrine in the coalition that grew to be one of the favourite LowSec fleets for all kinds of shenanigans! This time, we moved from Amarr space into Tama for a night of gate camping. The usual blapping was interrupted by a lost Thanatos that decided to warp onto the station but not tether. The fleet swapped into beefier ships and made quick work of the carrier. Just moments later a Revelation followed but ended up blown up just the same.

As the fleet was crunching through last percentages of the Rev's hull, another Revelation warped on grid to everyone's disbelief. As it dropped down to 20% armor, a bright flash lit up next to it cynoing in a full fleet of capitals. Wedge members scattered thinking this was an obvious bait but it turned out Snuffed Out hot-dropped and finished the job for us. The Wedgening of Tama was complete with 16bil ISK on the killboard!

Baited on a free Velator

On his usual trip from Jita, Skipp needed a random ship to hop over a few jumps so he boarded his speedy Pacifier for a quick way back. One jump out he noticed a flashy Velator slowboating to the gate and decided to blapp the squishy corvette. Upon engaging, the first alarm went off as he noticed the Pacifier only had Auroras and no close-range ammo. The second alarm went off when he noticed there was just a single gun... The third alarm went off as Skipp noticed that's not his usual Pacifier but rather a fit with missing slots! But hey - It's just a Velator right? What could possibly go wrong? One scram, web, a couple of drones and a pair of blasters to the face later...

Outsmarting the tournament

Our fourth surprise tournament had a few extra rules and limitations. By now, everyone already half-expected Rynn to be a smartass (as she usually is) - but no one could even imagine her undocking a no-prop smartbombing Magnate! Her tactics were extremely simple and deadly. Sit still, rep up and simply 2-shot enemy drones. With literally all of the opponent DPS eliminated, her grinning face laughed at the slow death her tiny T1 drones inflicted upon the helpless ships on the receiving end.

Elial even had some solid counters in form of webs and missiles but forgot to utilize them properly during the fight which got him the 3rd place while Aria, although his neuting looked promising, didn't manage to keep his drones alive long enough to do any significant damage - making him take 2nd place.

Being in the wrong place at the perfect time...

Rynn participated in an unprecedented amount of PvP fleets this week. A whooping two! And since EVE usually has an interesting sense of humor, this got our carebear to share the 2nd place on the alliance killboards for the week. To push that final kill, Skipp quickly found a lone MTU only to hit an unscannable signature at around 90%. A flashy "Magpie" was just sitting there with no way of fully scanning it without reshipping into a dedicated scanning ship... Just as they both were about to quit, one final scan finished to reveal the owner landing in a Noctis! The pair quickly warped on top of the unlucky pilot and rid him of a very blingy asset. Rynn got her +1

From Spectre with love...

Altiair joined us recently by leaving nullsec but his pewpew habits weren't left behind. After he got approved to FC Spectre Fleet, his first run took him into FW space around the Bleak Lands. A handful of Jackdaws spotted a small mining fleet that was actually paying attention to their surroundings and instantly warped into the safe hug of a local freeport. Unfortunately for the Orca pilot, he kept his boosts up and wasn't able to tether which gave the hunting fleet more than enough time to land tackle and make quick work of his 1bil ISK ship. ISK positive?

Redefining mining one cyno at a time

By now it's obvious people around here tend to do silly stuff and not take everything seriously... So this evening, a fleet of battleventures formed and jumped straight into nullsec for some proper mining. The roam took the fleet into RF-X7V where a Falcon, Gnosis, Kikimora and an Arazu were sitting on top of a Keepstar. As the fleet started "mining" the Falcon, other ships decided they didn't like the tether mechanic and engaged the battleventures one after the other, patiently waiting for their turn to get blapped. Not all stories have a happy ending...

Our friends living in J204030 are no strangers to eviction attempts, so this new one has been just another on the list of attackers needed to be repelled. However, this time, attackers were none other than Hard Knocks. With a formidable opponent, once again, a large fleet of around 150 pilots formed to defend the Fortizar which led to success. Seeing how heavily outnumbered they were, the attackers stood down and fell back to the safety of their own anchored R itaru.

Unfortunately, due to time zone differences, the defence fleet diminished in numbers over the course of the next few days while HK kept hole control. Without adequate forces to defend the final timer, the Alamo fell and along with it, one small corp home was destroyed. With the amount of people gathered over this structure regardless of politics and ingame alliances, we're pretty sure [ZWEI] will rebuild bigger and better.
