Just over 3 years ago (May 3rd 2023), Silent Vale made what seemed like a simple decision: deploy to Providence for a little while and see what happens. Naturally, "a little while" turned into years. Somewhere along the way, a bunch of friends making questionable decisions and going on questionable roams somehow ended up owning sov. Once the dust settled, we were left with the obvious question: "now what?"
The answer was apparently: "keep doing the same thing, but with more structures!". Fast forward to today, and we found ourselves asking a very similar question after following the coalition into Dronelands. A new adventure, new space and plenty of opportunities for content.
Except something was missing. The space was bigger, but it never really felt like home. Between the logistics, the distance and fighting on multiple fronts, it became clear that the thing we enjoyed was never the space itself. It was the people and the stories we made along the way.
With the Drone Regions chapter coming to an end, we're taking the opportunity to head back to Providence. Not because it has the best space in New Eden (it really doesn't), but because it always felt like home. We'll continue doing what Silent Vale does best: wandering into lowsec, joining NPSI fleets, making questionable plans and occasionally being surprised when they work!
Sometimes taking the scenic route just reminds you where you wanted to go in the first place.
